Synchro Shift Ring, 1st-2nd, 911 ’05-2011, Boxster S -’04 (Hardened Billet Steel)

This is the inner-most cone of the 1st and 2nd gear “double cone” synchronizer mechanisms. We don’t know why someone named it: “Synchro Shift Ring”. The Factory manual calls it simply a “Friction Ring”. While the original parts were produced in PM (Powdered Metal) with a UTS of around 105 KSI, ours are CNC machined from very high quality domestic alloy bars, heat treated to the same “apparent” hardness as the originals and finally cryogenically treated for even more wear resistance. Our process yields a superior part twice as strong as the originals with a UTS of about 215 KSI with better ductility. These work equally well with our 534.632.SCF Carbon Fiber Cone Rings or the original equipment sintered bronze-coated cone rings.
