These new Carbon Fiber Lined Billet Steel synchronizer rings are the ultimate in performance and durability for your G50 / G64 type transmission. This synchro ring replaces original p/n: 928.304.211.05 (which is bronze with a molybdenum friction lining). It has two distinct key advantages. First of all, the hardened billet steel body and teeth of our synchro are over twice as strong as the o.e. cast bronze part. Broken teeth and damaged stop cams are a thing of the past. Secondly, our carbon fiber lining, developed in conjunction with a leading o.e.m. supplier, is a much more modern friction material with many advantages over the original moly materials. Our carbon fiber lining improves the feel and speed of selecting gears, especially at higher RPM where higher braking forces are required for quicker speed-matching. It has high energy capability, high tolerance to abuse and extremely low wear. These fit 3rd – 5th gears in 5 speed transmissions. I’m using one of these synchro in place of a 928 304 211 05 in my porsche 928 S4 gearbox and it is working great! But I see no reason why it should not work in place of the steal 928 304 211 12. Should be a suitable replacement.
In my gearbox to replace 928 304 211 12 I used the R&S equivalent of 928 304 211 30. It works great also. But next time, in place of 928 304 211 12, I will try this synchro.
